Optometry is the advanced study of the optics and optical properties of the human eye. Optometrists train for four years beyond college concentrating on the prescribing of glasses, contact lenses, and the physiology of the eye. Because of this training, they are uniquely able to refine vision in our patients giving them the best vision possible.
Dr. Rudolph Flaska has worked for the Yavitz Eye Center since 1992. During that time he has counseled thousands of patients as to which of the numerous methods available to improve their vision is the best one for them. He is a Viet Nam Veteran, who served with distinction, and was awarded Purple Heart for his service. He is a 1977 graduate of Illinois College of Optometry; Chicago, IL.
Dr. Flaska provides pre and post LASIK surgical consultations.
"Working in the most pristine atmosphere imaginable, which such a dedicated staff and incredibly skilled surgeons is one of the joys of my job. Post-cataract patients are so thankful to have their vision restored; to see the depth and clarity of colors, or the beauty of a wife so long seen through a cataract-induced blur. With the recent advancements in refractive surgery, it always amazes me when patients are surprised that they no longer need glasses after LASIK."
